Hello my name is Takia Bridgeforth and I am the lead teacher at Ms. P’s Child & Family Services. I am 27 years old and  currently enrolled at University of District of Columbia obtaining my bachelors degree. I’ve been working in childhood for about seven years. I truly enjoy working with children.  My coworkers called me Mouthy Mainey because I am always sitting and communicating with my infants. I enjoy building the vocabulary skills that will help the children properly develop. I am currently working with toddlers ages 24 to 36 months. I love the joy and trust I receive from my scholars and their families. Most importantly I love working together for the sake of the children. I believe that students develop socially and academically when there is a laid foundation. I enjoy delivering fun lesson plans and activities for the children.

I sing songs with the children, help the children to verbalize their want and needs, help build their fine and gross motor skills, etc. My main priority is helping verbalize the children’s wants and needs because I want the children to be able to tell me what happen and what they want. I am currently in University of the District of Columbia obtaining my Associate Degree. I love and enjoy working with children. I love teaching the children new songs. I feel proud of myself because I see how engaged the children are. They are my passion. They are the future. This is a great opportunity for me to connect and network and learn about new skills.  I’m looking forward to this great opportunity and bringing it back to the table of my classmates because I am still in school obtaining my Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Hello, my name is Ms. Maureen Wise, an I am the Special Education  Teacher at Ms. P’s Child & Family Services. I have worked with children and adults with special needs for over 20 years. I later went on to work at different daycare centers; in Facility Site Management, The YMCA, Health Service For Children with Special Needs (HSCSN), Before and Aftercare, The Va School Systems, and The DC Public/ Charter School System, As one on one Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist (TBA). Additionally, I gained some training in ABA learning. I  also currently, work with Children’s Hospital & The Hospital For Sick Children.

I realized at a very young age my ability to advocate and care for others. I have always cared about equity and inclusion for everyone around me. So my passion for kids comes from the need to make a difference and the ability to make an impact in a child’s life from the beginning, in hopes of making a change in tomorrow’s leaders. I enjoy seeing things from the viewpoints of children and helping to shape and grow their minds.
